I’ve been gearing up to do some crafting in the next few days.

I’m thinking of doing some Christmas cards that have a Hanukkah message, as an introduction to the rest of my family of the cards they will be receiving from me in the future. Luckily, I found a TON of homemade cards that I did last year for Christmas that I guess I never sent out. There must be like 15-20 or so that are just gorgeous! I wonder why I never used them? Maybe I never sent them out, even! Well, that’s always possible. I’m going to include, within the text, the idea that Yeshua is the Light of the World, and we should rededicate ourselves to His leadership again this year (as the temple of the Holy Spirit), just as the physical Temple in Israel was rededicated during Hanukkah. Or something like that.

I’m glad I wasn’t into the whole Santa thing last year (not that I ever have been, really) because it would be a lot harder to incorporate the Hanukkah text into a card with Santa on it! :P Here’s a sampling of the cards I made last year. Some of the cards that I found at home look similar to these, and some are exactly like them. They should be easy enough to work with.

I have enjoyed reading some really insightful posts about Hanukkah from fellow Torah-obedient believers which I will now share with you. They helped me to better understand the connection, and explore other areas in which I could yet be obedient.
